Guided tour
Accompanied by an experienced interpreter-guide, let us tell you about the beginnings of Baie-Comeau.
In 1937, Colonel Robert R. McCormick founded a town around his paper mill, Quebec North Shore Paper, which produced newsprint for the Chicago Tribune, of which he was president. A remarkable, inspiring and visionary man whom you'll meet at the helm of his canoe. Your guided tour will also take in Place La Salle and its historic monuments, the mysterious Parc de le Grotte and the impressive Dom Bellot-style Church of Sainte-Amélie, with its frescoes worthy of the Sistine Chapel.
Enjoy a guided heritage tour offered by Baie-Comeau-based Tourisme Baie-Comeau. Discover the region's history and cultural riches during this immersive experience.
The service can be booked online, costs vary per person. Approximately 2 schedules are available each day. The average duration of the activity is 2 hours. The service is available from June 15 to September 29, 2024.
Your guide will meet you at the Biosphère fountain adjacent to 55 Place Lasalle for this two (2)-hour tour. Along the way, your guide will tell you amusing and, above all, interesting anecdotes. This human dimension will add pleasure to your tour.
