Beaches
The Baie-Comeau region is full of accessible water points. Whether it is the river, the streams or the lakes that populate the maps of the region, the possibilities are almost unlimited. We find out about tide times and safety before swimming in an unknown place and above all, we are aware that we do so at our own risk if the place does not have a lifeguard service.
Champlain Beach
This long beach is full of shells and is perfect for exploring. A legendary sandbar is revealed at low tide. Keep a close eye on the tide times to avoid being caught out! Public access between 195 and 203 Champlain Avenue, Baie-Comeau. Provides access to the Pointe-Saint-Gilles woods. Swimming (unsupervised).

Arthur-A.-Schmon lookout beach
Let yourself be amazed by this small beach, little known to visitors, but appreciated by locals! Treat yourself to an authentic experience by discovering this discreet and secret place. Locals call this beach "Beach between the two towers". A quiet and hidden place, where natural beauty blends with an intimate atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle.
Located at the intersection of Arthur-A.-Schmon and Donald-Smith avenues, follow the path to the entrance of the Embruns trail. Go down the steps and let yourself be surprised by this small, intimate beach with its captivating charm.
Malfait Lake Beach (La Chesnaye Lake)
Located about 15 km from Baie-Comeau, head first towards Mont Ti-Basse and follow the signs to the right when you cross the bridge. The beach is located on the resort site on the edge of Lake Malfait.
Free for access to the beach, the swimming area and the use of your non-motorized boats. For other services and rates, contact the Malfait Lake Recreational Association.

Chouinard Beach, Pointe-Lebel
Located on Chouinard Street in Pointe-Lebel, this beach is at one end of the Manicouagan Peninsula. The 30 km of shoreline of this peninsula is all sand. Faced with the continuous erosion of the banks, long sections have been rocked and are only accessible at low tide. On the other hand, the public access at 1335 Granier allows you to walk for several hours on the beach, a large part of which is wild.
